When Google Rules All, How Do you Rank Higher Part II

Recently I was reading “The Zen of Social Media Marketing” and read something that was quite interesting. In the book Shama mentions that no one really knows how you rank higher on Google. I think most of us speculate how you can technically rank higher on Google but truthfully no one exactly knows Google’s algorithm and how it works. We can only assume we know how it works. So in a world where Google rules all and we don’t know quite how it works, how are we going rank higher?

In my previous blog I mentioned there were several ways to rank higher on Google. However, do these methods work. Well I believe so. I believe that yes it is important to do things like use key words and SEO to help optimize your site and help you rank better on Google. It is also important like I mentioned previously to keep your content fresh and up-to-date. A good way to do this is through blogging, ezine articles, StumbleUpon, Digg and Delicious.

Another awesome site to use is Ping.fm. Ping.fm is a site where you can update all your status updates in one place. This site tends to help one rank higher on Google. Not sure why but it tends to work. Another great tip is to use video podcasting. Video podcasting takes a lot of dedication and work. It is kind of harder because you have to keep up with it every week and keep doing it but it does create a lot more traffic and higher Google rankings.

So the bottom line is this, Google is smart….almost too smart. Shoot, Google is even trying to develop a car that drives itself. So really you can’t outsmart Google and get yourself ranked number one without some work. So try these tips and see if you start ranking higher on Google. Let me know what your tips are if you have any other suggestions than me. Thanks for any comments!
